National Registry of Vertical Cabling

What is the NRVC?

The National Registry of Vertical Cabling is a collaborative database describing the in-building telecom infrastructure—riser cables, distribution frames, vertical pathways—needed to connect end-users to fixed networks (FTTH, DSL, DOCSIS). It prioritizes multi-dwelling units in Luxembourg and offers an API-first approach for contributors and developers.

• Neutral, shared inventory mantained with operators and ecosystem partners
• Clear data model and auditability
• Designed for interoperability and automation

The registry is developed and operated by MyConnectivity, but it is only possible thanks to the support of the telecom sector, which contributes to data collection and maintenance.

About the project

In the dynamic telecommunications landscape, the seamless deployment of Very High Capacity Networks (VHCN) is crucial for driving technological progress and ensuring that everyone in Luxembourg can equally benefit from digital transformation. Recognising the critical role that the in-building infrastructure – so called Vertical Cabling – plays in this transformation, the Advisory Community called in 2023 for a collaborative effort to create a centralised an neutral place to exchange infrastructure inventory data.

Consequently, MyConnectivity led an initiative of collecting expectations and existing data sets, proposing structuring principles and finally developing the IT infrastructure supporting such program in 2025.

The platform bridges the knowledge gap by creating a centralised, neutral data repository that empowers telecom operators and other industry stakeholders to efficiently populate and manage a comprehensive, centralised, nationwide inventory of vertical cabling infrastructure data, with a focus on multi-dwelling buildings.
