Mobile World Congress 2024 in Barcelona 

In February, Barcelona will once again host the highly anticipated Mobile World Congress (MWC), the largest and most influential event in the mobile industry. From February 26th to 29th, MWC 2024 will convene a global community of professionals at the Fira Gran Via, offering a vibrant platform for networking, sharing ideas, and showcasing innovative solutions.

MWC 2024 will also celebrate the 10th edition of 4YFN (4 Years From Now), the startup and innovation platform at MWC Barcelona. Over the past decade, 4YFN has welcomed over 4,200 exhibitors and connected over 9,200 founders with 5,200 investors. The 10th-anniversary edition will include pitching competitions, keynotes from global startup leaders, and partner programs from notable companies.

In addition to the technology showcase, MWC 2024 will host the Journey to the Future and Sports Tomorrow Congress, and the invitation-only GSMA Ministerial Programme. These segments will cover various sectors like Health, AI, Mobility, Sustainability, Accessibility, and Retail. Given the congress’s coverage of numerous essential topics in connectivity, it was a compelling reason for us to co-organize a delegation, enabling engagement and networking opportunities with Luxembourg’s ecosystem and extending our reach beyond.

This year, MWC 2024 will focus on six key themes, each crucial to the evolving landscape of mobile technology:

• Connecting Everything: Emphasizing the interconnectedness of digital ecosystems.
• Humanizing AI: Delving into the integration of AI in everyday life.

• Game Changers: Highlighting disruptive technologies.
• Our Digital DNA: Examining the core elements driving digital advancement.

The event promises to offer insights into the future of connectivity, with a special emphasis on these themes. Attendees can expect to explore how 5G is reshaping industries like fintech, mobile commerce, manufacturing, smart mobility, and sports entertainment.

The congress will feature a series of keynote speeches from industry leaders and visionaries. They will share their perspectives on the current state and future of mobile technology, discussing topics from sustainable development to cutting-edge innovations.

Among the speakers, Avanti Sharma, a pre-teen technology specialist and head of business development at Workshop4Me a.s.b.l, stands out as the first Luxembourgish speaker invited by GSMA to present at MWC. She will participate in two sessions:

The Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce, in collaboration with MyConnectivity and The Department of Media, Connectivity and Digital Policy (SMC), is organizing a Luxembourg Delegation to partake in this event.

Participants of the Luxembourg Delegation can expect a vibrant program including an official reception with Ms. Elisabeth Margue, Minister Delegate to the Prime Minister for Media and Connectivity, visits to leading companies’ booths, product demonstrations, and the 4YFN startup trade fair. There will also be a networking evening event and the opportunity to engage in the MWC Open Innovation Challenge organized by the Enterprise Europe Network Barcelona of ACCIÓ – Agència per la Competitivitat de l’Empresa.
