A new national standard ratified: ILNAS 108:2025
The national standard ILNAS 108:2025, titled “Vertical cabling techniques in residential and mixed-use buildings”, was officially ratified on 29 October 2025 by the ILNAS/TC 108 technical committee – Telecommunications cabling techniques.
Developed jointly by ILNAS (Institut luxembourgeois de la normalisation, de l’accréditation, de la sécurité et qualité des produits et services) and MyConnectivity G.I.E., this Norm provides technical and functional guidelines for the design, installation and verification of vertical cabling infrastructures in new and existing multi-dwelling buildings.
Its purpose is to harmonise national practices and support the deployment of very high-capacity (VHCN) networks, ensuring consistent quality, interoperability and long-term scalability of building connectivity.
Scope and key components
The Norm ILNAS 108:2025 defines best practices and specifications covering:
- Technical telecom room
- Network Termination Point (NTP)
- Building IT rack
- Cable technologies and types
- Building unit identification and numbering
- Physical access control

This Norm represents a collective achievement by telecom operators, infrastructure providers, real-estate professionals and public authorities, working together under the coordination of ILNAS and MyConnectivity.
