The Berdorf Pilot Project
The Berdorf pilot project was our first collaboration with a municipality and confirmed the MyConnectivity approach. Launched in May 2023, it established a collaborative framework to accelerate VHCN deployment in a low-coverage municipality. The 2025 ILR data validates its impact: VHCN coverage in Berdorf increased from 31.3% (2023) to 45.2% (H1 2025), a progress of +13.9 percentage points, achieved exclusively through fiber deployment.
Project Timeline
• May 2023: Data sharing and presentation of objectives. VHCN coverage at approximately 31.3% in Berdorf.
• June 2023: Signing of a Letter of Intent (LOI) with Mayor Joé Nilles and the board of aldermen.
• August 2023: Selection of Schroeder & Associates as the engineering firm. Kick-off meeting on August 30.
• September–November 2023: Data collection from 8 stakeholders (Post, CREOS, Eltrona, LuxConnect, Tango, Orange, Cegecom, Ponts & Chaussées).
• February 2024: Plenary meeting at the municipality with CREOS, Post, and Schroeder. Presentation of detailed deployment scenarios.
• April 2024: Presentation to the Municipal Council. Approval and budget allocation.
• May 2025: Start of works.
The selected deployment scenario consists of four phases, concluding in 2027:
• Phase 1 – An der Heeschbech
• Phase 2 – Rue de Consdorf
• Phase 3 – Rue um Wues, Hammerhafferstrooss, and Rue d'Echternach
• Phase 4 – Rue an der Ruetsbech
Since then, MyConnectivity has maintained regular contact with stakeholders to ensure milestones are met and no major obstacles arise.
Target audience
We maintain regular contact with over 30 operators and infrastructure managers across all sectors—water, telecommunications, electricity, gas, roads, public lighting, and more—as well as all 100 communes of the Grand Duchy and the institutions responsible for heritage and archaeological preservation. This ensures we effectively address the specific challenges of each locality.
